Alpinia
Alpinia
is a very variable genus in the ginger family, Zingiberaceae, with some
200 species originally from Asia and Australia although many of the more
ornamental species are now found growing throughout the tropics. Most Alpinia
are large plants growing above head height in appropriate conditions although
smaller in pots.
